Overview
Parcel Dashboard is a personal shipment tracker that turns delivery emails from Gmail into one clear overview of active parcels. It shows the merchant, carrier, tracking number, expected delivery date, and direct tracking link, with controls to dismiss false positives or mark a parcel as delivered.
Problem
Delivery updates are spread across emails from different shops and carriers, making it easy to lose track of what is still on the way and when it should arrive. Checking each message and tracking link manually adds friction, while a personal tool should keep mailbox access limited and avoid exposing shipment data to another public service.
Solution
A Next.js dashboard triggers a FastAPI endpoint to read recent shipment-related messages through Gmail's read-only OAuth scope. A rule-based extractor recognizes Dutch and English delivery terms, carrier links, tracking numbers, merchants, and estimated dates, then stores deduplicated results in PostgreSQL. Clean architecture boundaries keep Gmail, extraction, persistence, and the interface replaceable, while Docker Compose runs the frontend, API, and database together.
